The Blair boys soccer team closed out its regular season schedule with an Eastern Midlands Conference road victory Tuesday evening.
The Bears bested Elkhorn 2-1 for their first win since March 25. They are 3-8 entering postseason play.
“We're playing better and with more confidence on the ball,” BHS coach Curt Scott said.
His team built a 2-0 lead before the Antlers (5-9 overall) tried to battle back with a second-half goal. Blair seniors Elias Cortez and Andres Iniguez registered their team's scores with Iniguez's winner coming during the 42nd minute.
Practice for the upcoming subdistrict tournament will be “more concentrated and intensive,” Scott said.
“We're going to take this district tournament serious,” he added.
The Bears open Class B Subdistrict 5 at 5 p.m. Monday against Madison at South Sioux City. The four-team tournament is combrised of Lutheran High/Norfolk Catholic, Madison, South Sioux City and the Bears.
