It’s been a tough weekend.
My hope is for everyone affected by Friday’s tornado has better days ahead. Best of luck to all of you as you clean up, rebuild and come back stronger.
Today’s Nannen Physical Therapy Athletes of the Week are Luke Donner, Andrew Namuth and Jacob Meehan.

Luke Donner, Blair soccer: The freshman goalkeeper earned his second shootout victory of the season last week against Columbus Scotus. He’s surpassed 100 saves for the season, according to maxpreps.com. Special recognition goes to Reece Ewoldt, who broke another of her own track records, and the Bears’ 400-meter relay team. Ben Holcomb, Ethan Baessler, Hayden Daggett and Colin McCabe won the race in a school record time of 43.4.

Andrew Namuth, Fort Calhoun track: The Pioneer broke a 28-year-old school record in the discus, clearing 154 feet, 10 inches, with his best attempt. Special recognition goes to Afton Byelick, who broke her own record in the pole vault, too.

Jacob Meehan, Arlington golf: The Eagle played 36 holes last week. He finished with 80 strokes Wednesday in North Bend before shooting another 80 for second during AHS’ home tournament at River Wilds Golf Club on Thursday. Special recognition goes to Josh Hamre, who shot the week’s best overall 18-hole round at North Bend — 78 strokes.

Again, please take care of yourselves. Many in Washington County are facing new challenges, but I wish them all well as they tackle them.
