Arlington High School publicly announced Troy Schlueter as its new head football coach Feb. 14.
The Language Arts teacher joined the Eagles as an assistant last fall under the direction of now former head coach Colter Mattson. He is AHS' second head coach since Steven Gubbels, who led the program from 1998 through 2019, retired.
“I'm looking forward to working with the guys,” Schlueter said the day of the announcement. “I mean, that's always the best part of it — coaching staff and players.”
The Eagles went 1-8 in 2023, topping Raymond Central 27-21 in the season opener. They open the 2024 season against Fort Calhoun before delving into a new Class C2 schedule after a long time spent in C1.
