Subdistrict Update: AHS, FCHS volleyball seasons end

The volleyball seasons of both Arlington and Fort Calhoun concluded Monday in subdistrict tournament play.
The Eagles (1-26 overall) competed and fell during the Class C1-4 tournament at North Bend Central. AHS lost the first two sets to Wahoo by 25-11 scores and then the third 25-15.
Arlington led the third set against the Warriors 10-9 before, ultimately, dropping the match.
Fort Calhoun, meanwhile, went 1-1 Monday during the Class C1-3 tournament at Douglas County West in Valley. The Pioneers swept Boys Town 25-8, 25-5, 25-3 before the host Falcons — the No. 1 subdistrict seed — ended their season, 3-0.
DC West won the three-set match 25-16, 25-11 and 25-12. FCHS concluded the fall campaign 13-20 after winning just four matches total a year ago.

Blair Bears play Tuesday
Blair High School’s volleyball squad, meanwhile, will host the Class B-4 Subdistrict Tournament on Tuesday.
Schuyler and South Sioux City will play at 5 p.m. before the winner takes on the Bears in the subdistrict final at approximately 6:30.
