YMCA championship swim meet starts Friday
The Nebraska YMCA Championship Swim Meet is Friday and Saturday at the Dillon Family Aquatic Center in Fremont.
Friday evening swimming begins at 5:45 p.m. with age 13 and older races 200 yards and longer. On Saturday, all ages compete, starting with the age 8 and younger 100 freestyle at 9 a.m.
The Blair Family YMCA Barracudas hosted their own meet last December, competed in Fremont during January and attended the Swim Your Heart Out Meet in Beatrice on Feb. 17, according to Meet Mobile. In Beatrice, Bryher Gassman, Isabel Chrans and Berkley Boerma led Blair's team with second-place race finishes.
The Barracudas' Brooklyn Ballinger, Brogan Boerma and Madelyn Prinds added third-place finishes at the Swim Your Heart Out event, too.

River Wilds league start dates set
River Wilds Golf Club's league play is scheduled to begin at the end of April.
The Caddyshack Thursday Night League is first, opening April 25 and continuing weekly through Aug. 29. The Patty Berg Tuesday Night Ladies League then starts April 30 with an end date of Aug. 27.
River Wilds' Wednesday leagues — the Arnold Palmer Senior League, the Ben Hogan Early League and the Seve and Joens Night League — all start May 1 and continue through Aug. 28, too.

Eagle Golf Classic set
The eighth annual Eagle Golf Classic will be June 14.
Presented by Arlington High School's athletic programs, it will start at 10 a.m. on the North Bend Golf Course. Those interested in registering to play are to email AHS Activities Director James Shada (james.shada@apseagles.org).
