Washington County swimmers Lizzie Meyer, Jane Busboom, Ryleigh Schroeter and Jacob Hanson medaled with top-six finishes Saturday during the NSAA State Swimming & Diving Championships in Lincoln.
Meyer, an Arlington senior, and her Fremont High School teammates picked up a fourth-place finish in the 400-yard free relay, a seventh-place result in the 200 medley relay and earned eighth in the 200 freestyle relay.
Busboom and Schroeter, who are Blair student-athletes, teamed with Meyer in both the 400 free relay and the 200 medley relay. Madelyn Buck of FHS was their fourth swimmer in the 400 relay, while Charlotte Vech took part in the medley relay.
The Tigers' Alexis Rasmussen competed with Buck, Vech and Meyer in the 200 free relay, too.
Individually, Busboom scored two more state medals, finishing the day 4-for-4 in her events. She took sixth in both the 100-yard freestyle and 100 backstroke events.
Schroeter, meanwhile, was sixth in the 100-yard butterfly.
Hanson, however, competed with the Fremont boys and earned two relay medals, too. The Blair sophomore was sixth in the 200-yard medley relay and eighth in the 400 free relay with Elliot Vech, Zayne Keslar and Gabe Christ.
Another Arlington swimmer, Dathan Hansen, competed alongside his fellow Washington County athletes Friday during the preliminary races, too.
Altogether, the FHS girls finished seventh in the team standings at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The Tiger boys, meanwhile, were 13th.

Blair girls hoops fall to Wolves
The Blair girls basketball team closed its season 11-13 Saturday, dropping the Class B-2 District Final at Elkhorn North, 73-45.
Kaitlynn O'Neil led the Bears in defeat with 15 points, while the Wolves' Britt Prince scored a game-high 30 points.
The loss ended the basketball careers of four BHS seniors — Marin Sather, Leah Chance, Joslyn Policky and Sophia Wrich.  The loss also marks the end of high school basketball season in Washington County as all six teams have been eliminated from postseason contention.
