Bears force 5th set

After a struggle in both the second and third sets, the Blair volleyball team forced a fifth Saturday at Ralston High School.
The Rams recovered, though, picking up the 3-2 home victory. The Bears fell to 4-10 this season with the 17-25, 25-21, 25-23, 20-25 and 15-7 loss.
“It doesn't feel good to lose, but, overall, I am proud of all the growth these girls have made this year,” BHS assistant coach Jess Lansman said. “They truly are developing into really solid volleyball players.”
She said the Bears extended Saturday's match with fourth-set serving runs, but passing difficulties in the fifth cost them.
Two players stood out in defeat, though. Lansmans named both Ellia Klanderud and Taylor Mostek specifically.
“Really proud of Ellia's play today,” the coach said. “She stepped up and showed a lot of leadership today.”
Mostek, meanwhile, contributed in multiple areas.
“She had some great kills, but also was solid in her passing and serve receive,” Lansman said.
Blair next plays Saturday at the four-team Arlington Invitational.
