The Blair and Arlington High School football teams opened their seasons Friday night.
BHS hosted and defeated Plattsmouth 40-21 on its new field turf at the revamped Krantz Field, while the Eagles dropped a 14-10 home game to Raymond Central.
Fort Calhoun takes on Nebraska City at 7 p.m. Saturday on the campus of Peru State College.

Big plays highlights Bears' win
Six Blair Bears combined to score six touchdowns as they celebrated new field turf, a new concession stand, new uniforms and a new season Friday.
BHS led Plattsmouth 26-14 at halftime and won by 19 — 40-21 — after touchdowns by Brady Brown, Shea Wendt, Brock Templar, Dane Larsen, J'Shawn Unger and Ethan Baessler. Junior quarterback Bode Soukup threw touchdown passes of 6, 64 and 6 yards to Brown, Wendt and Unger, respectively, while Templar, Larsen and Baessler scored on runs of 74, 3 and 76 yards.
Blair kicker Sergio Dominguez added four extra-point kicks as his team picked up its first win after a 1-8 campaign a year ago. The Bears next play 7 p.m. Sept. 9 at Ralston after Omaha Buena Vista was forced to cancel its varsity season, forfeiting its Sept. 2 game with coach Bryan Soukup's squad.

Raymond Central tops AHS
Arlington led the visiting Mustangs 10-0 during Friday's third quarter, but lost 14-10 at home.
Coach Colter Mattson's Eagles led 3-0 at halftime on Colton Willmott's 28-yard field goal. They moved ahead by 10 when Kaden Foust scored on a 5-yard run during the third quarter, but couldn't hold the advantage.
Raymond Central scored its first points on an 84-yard pass from Rylan Stover to Reid Otto before notching the game-winning points with 2:11 left in the fourth quarter. Stover notched the decisive touchdown on a 1-yard run.
The 0-1 Eagles next play 6 p.m. Sept. 2 at West Point-Beemer.
