The Fort Calhoun Senior Legion baseball team's struggles continued to start July.
The Post 348 Pioneers fell to 6-8, dropping games against Louisville and Syracuse.
On July 1, coach Brnadon Wynn's team lost a 13-3 game against Louisville. He said inconsistent pitching was the Pioneers' downfall.
Tylan Conner and Harrison Schmitt led Post 348 offensively with two hits apiece, according to Louisville stats.
Then, on Tuesday, the Pioneers lost a 6-2 game at Syracuse. Jake Seina had two hits, while Zach Faucher recorded an RBI and struck out three batters through four innings on the mound.
The loss was Calhoun's sixth in a row after winning six in a row.

Juniors go 1-1
Though the Seniors struggled on the first night of July against Louisville, the Fort Calhoun Juniors thrived. They won 13-5 with Tanner Jacobson earning the complete-game pitching victory. He also went 3-for-4 at the plate.
Clint Dirks added a Post 348 two-RBI double in the win.
Against Syracuse, though, the Pioneers struggled, losing 15-2. Declan Otte had two hits in defeat, according to Syracuse stat-keepers.
The Calhoun Juniors now start Class B Area 3 Tournament play today at Omaha Roncalli. The Pioneers' first-round match was not announced as of press time.
