FCHS softball leads early, drops 11-4 game

Mercy hands Pioneers 7th loss

The Fort Calhoun softball team jumped out to a 3-1 home lead through one inning Tuesday, but lost to Omaha Mercy 11-4.
The Pioneers fell to 3-7 in defeat, while the Monarchs improved to 10-6.
Sam Brewer, Maddie Reed, Addie Benoit and Anna Taylor notched FCHS hits in defeat. Benoit (two) and Taylor notched RBIs, too.
Pioneers pitcher Lucie Larsen threw all seven innings, allowing 11 runs, though just three of them were earned. She struck out one Mercy batter.
Fort Calhoun was scheduled to host its Parents Night on Thursday and will continue play Saturday at a Plattsmouth tournament.
