Though the Arlington High School football team scored twice early on in the first quarter, they were unable to take the game against the DC West Falcons, losing 34-21 at home Friday night.

Following the at-home defeat, the Eagles ended their regular season with zero wins.

Senior Kaden Pittman scored a 6-yard and 3-yard touchdown in the first quarter, giving the Eagles an early lead, ending the quarter at 14-7.

The Falcons led 21-14 at the half with two touchdowns by Brady Singer, and a scoreless second quarter by Arlington.

Both teams came back after halftime scoring one touchdown each in the third quarter. Eagles freshman

Oliver Ladehoff ran in a 7-yard touchdown with 17 seconds left in the third.

But Arlington couldn't secure another in the second half.

The final touchdown of the game was by DC West's Ryker Wohlers, who scored a 6-point, 64-yard touchdown passed by Kelan Bohlen in the fourth quarter with 9 minutes left on the clock.

The game was delayed in the fourth quarter due to an injured Arlington player, who was taken to a hospital via Arlington Fire and Rescue.

Head Coach Colter Mattson said despite a winless season for the Eagles, there have been a number of positives he's seen with the players.

"The kids themselves have just done a heck of a job," he said. "It's been a tough season nonetheless, and the kids showed up every day and they worked their tails off, and they always had the right attitude. It says a lot about the kids, it says a lot about them as individuals and who they're going to be."

One plight that has affected the Eagles this season has been injuries, causing a number of players to sit out of games.

"There's a lot of adversity this year," Mattson said. "But the kids are showing up... and really giving everything every day. I think it says a lot about the culture where we're headed and they're doing it for each other and really feeding off of each other in those situations."

Mattson said it wasn't possible for him to choose one player that has stepped up a lot this season.
"I think you can count all our seniors, even the ones that have gotten hurt — those kids have done a ton and there's a lot of kids that have done a lot of good things," he said. "The scoreboard and the wins and losses don't show it, but there were a lot of good things done."

Eagles quarterback Cooper Staats completed 20 of his 44 passes Friday for 102 yards. His top target was Jacob Beans, who caught six passes for 27 targets. Darren Olson, meanwhile, added 52 receiving yards on three catches.
