The Blair baseball team is 2-6 this season after going 1-1 in its two most recent games.
The Bears beat Omaha Roncalli 4-3 at Vets Field on Monday before an 8-7 loss Tuesday at Plattsmouth.
First, sophomore Bo Nielsen scored the game-winning on a sixth-inning wild pitch against the Pride. The pinch runner — who'd filled in for Cade Ulven on first base — stole second, reached third on an overthrow and then scored for a 4-3 advantage.
From there, freshman pitcher Brady Brown — who hit a homer earlier during the game — shut down the Roncalli lineup for the Bears' second win of the season. Shea Wendt, meanwhile, finished with a game-high six strikeouts from the mound.
BHS' Morgan Rump and J'shawn Unger notched RBIs in the win, too, while Connor O'Neil had a team-high two hits.
Then, on Tuesday, the Bears came up short on the road. Despite holding leads of 5-0 and 6-2, BHS suffered its sixth loss of the season when the Blue Devils earned a walk-off victory.
Nolan Osterhaus led BHS with three hits and two RBIs, while Brown also notched two RBIs and three strikeouts from the pitching mound.
The Bears were to play Thursday at Waverly and host Norris today at 2 p.m. They also host Columbus on Saturday with first pitch at 1 p.m.
