The Class B No. 3 Blair High School softball team pushed its winning streak to seven games Monday before a 2-1 loss snapped it Tuesday at Norris
Overall, the Bears are 10-3 this season. Coach Jennifer Fangmeier's squad was scheduled to play Omaha Gross on Thursday and competes at an Auburn tourney Saturday.
BHS pitcher Kalli Ulven earned Monday's five-run victory against Elkhorn North at home. She threw all seven frames, surrendering just one run on a seventh-inning homer.
The Bears' Sophia Wrich homered during the sixth inning, too, capping her team's scoring. It first scored during the fourth frame when Ulven, Tessa Villotta and Claire Mann notched back-to-back-to-back RBI doubles after Nessa McMillen was hit by a pitch leading off.
Blair plated two more runs in the fifth when McMillen and Ulven tallied two more run-scoring hits.
Fangmeier's team scored just one run a day later on the road at Norris, though. Ulven and Villotta claimed back-to-back hits to start the top of the second inning with Villotta's double plating her junior teammate.
Norris later scored two runs during the bottom of the third frame, holding a one-run advantage from there. Wrich reached base for Blair in the seventh inning with a full-count walk, but the game ended by strikeout shortly thereafter.
