Isabel Chrans and her fellow Blair Family YMCA Swim Team Barracudas competed March 19-20 at the North Central Regional Championships in Des Moines, Iowa.
The 8-year-old swimmer highlighted her team's effort, setting a new Blair record in the 25-yard backstroke. She beat the 2016 mark set by Jane Busboom, finishing in 21.26 seconds.
Chrans effort earned 16th, while she also claimed 11th in the 100 freestyle, 16th in the 50 backstroke and 12th in the 25 free.
In addition, the Barracudas' William Filows, 8, was fourth in the 50-yard freestyle, ninth in the 25 free and eighth in the 25 backstroke.
Clayten Roth, 17, was 24th in the 50 freestyle as well as 26th in the 100.
