Arlington girls hoops picks up 1st win

The Arlington girls basketball team held Nebraska City to just 20 points Friday night, securing its first win of the season.
The Eagles met the Pioneers' total during the first half, winning 39-20 after four quarters. The win pushed their season record to 1-3, while their hosts fell to 0-3 in defeat.
AHS junior Keelianne Green scored eight first-half points, pushing coach Luke Brenn's squad to a 20-10 advantage. The point guard finished with a game-high 11 points total.
Taylor Arp, meanwhile, finished with nine points for the Eagles. The sophomore notched six during her team's game-sealing 14-2 third period.
Arlington's Hailey Brenn and Brooke Hilgenkamp each added five points, too.
Kendyl Schmitz led Nebraska City with five points in defeat.
Next, the Eagles travel to Omaha Brownell-Talbot for a nonconference regular season matchup. The game is 6 p.m. today.
