The Arlington High School baseball team bested Tekamah-Herman on Thursday, 7-4.
The Eagles outhit the first-year high school squad 9-4, producing six of their seven runs during the third and fourth innings. The Tigers — who've only previously started each baseball season in May with American Legion play — scored three runs during the fifth inning, pulling within 6-4, but they couldn't get any closer.
Andy Misfeldt led AHS at the plate with two RBIs and two runs scored. Tim Halley, Tanner Kyllo and Wes Monke knocked in runs, too, while Tyler Ott scored twice. Kyllo finished 1-for-1 with three walks altogether, and both Halley and Blaine Vogt notched two hits apiece.
Eagles pitching, meanwhile, held Tekamah to just four hits, while also allowing just three free bases by walk.
Coach Tyler Stender's team was set to host a triangular Saturday, but the games were called off Friday due to forecasted low temperatures.
Arlington, however, was scheduled to play Monday at West Point GACC and next competes 4:30 p.m. today at the Washington County Fairgrounds. The Eagles' home game is against Thurston-Cuming County.
