Weather conditions were what the Arlington Eagles were hoping for Monday during the Fremont Bergan quadrangular.
The nine-hole scores, however, weren't what coach Scott Parson was looking for at Fremont Golf Club.
“We had a rough day,” he said, commenting on AHS' fourth-place finish behind Bergan, Yutan and David City. “It was a great day for golf, we just have to get better at taking advantage of the good-weather days.”
The Eagles finished with 200 strokes, 28 behind the first-place Knights. Yutan, meanwhile, carded 176 swings and David City had 178.
Eddie Rosenthal and Jayden Thompson led Arlington with 48s. Austin Smutz added a 51 and Josh Iossi had a 53.
Josh Hamre rounded out the Eagles' varsity score with a 54.
In junior varsity competition, Jacob Meehan shot a nine-hole 53. Jacob Strom carded a 62, while Andy Misfeldt finished with 65 strokes. Ken Eppenbaugh had a 66 as the lineup finished with 246 overall.
Arlington was scheduled to play Thursday in Tekamah and will next compete Tuesday during the Class C-2 District Tournament at Oakland Golf Club.
