Jake Flesner and Kolton Gilmore won their weight classes at Ashland-Greenwood on Friday, leading the Arlington boys wrestling team to a fourth-place finish during the annual Jack Murray Invite.
Competing inside the Bluejays' new gymnasium for the first time, coach Doug Hart's Eagles scored 104.5 team points, finishing behind Plattsmouth (194 points), Ashland (146) and Nebraska City (131).
AHS outscored eight schools, though, earning seven top-four podium spots. Flesner and Gilmore were the top finishers, topping their weight classes.
Flesner, a 15-3 113-pounder, went 4-0 during the Jack Murray. He secured two pins, beat Ryder Knapp of North Bend Central by technical fall and capped his tournament with a 7-4 decision.
Gilmore, meanwhile, improved to 20-2 overall at 165 pounds with three victories. The senior scored two pins, including a second-period stoppage against Nebraska City's Jayden Adams in the finals.
Additionally, Hart's Braxton Soll, Tate Johannes, Brodie Wilkins, Hadyn Hegemann and Ben Flesner finished with their own top-four results. Soll was second at 126 pounds, secured a quarterfinals pin in just seven seconds.
“Pretty quick,” he said. “I saw that it was a guy I could probably beat pretty easily, and I saw the school record and went for it.”
Soll's pin unofficially bested the school record set by three former Eagles by a second. Dave Suhr (1983-1984), Steve Turner (1988-1989) and Hunter Gilmore (2019-2020) all won matches in 8 seconds, according to records posted to apseagles.org.
Johannes added a second-place result at 190 pounds with a 3-1 record, while Wilkins was third at 150 with four wins. Hegemann and Ben Flesner earned fourth in their weight classes, too, respectively.
Prior to their matches in Ashland, the Eagles hosted and defeated Stanton and Oakland-Craig during Thursday night home duals. AHS beat the Mustangs 49-18 and the Knights 48-29, respectively.
Against Stanton, Gilmore, Stokely Lewis, Johannes and Soll earned contested victories. Gilmore and Johannes earned wins across three periods, while both Lewis and Soll took 45 seconds and less to pin their opponents. Soll closed out his 126-pound match with Eli Warnke in just 17 seconds.
Gilmore and Wilkins won contested matchups against Oakland, too. Gilmore pinned Joseph Findlay at 165 pounds in 1:22, while Wilkins' pin of Taitum Kramer took just 27 seconds.

Rylie Kyllo and Callee Shearer won junior varsity matches Thursday, too. Both earned first-period pins against the Tigers.
Then, on Saturday, Krivohlavek, Carly Segebart and Honora Andreasen earned top-four finishes during Arlington's eighth-place finish at the Malcolm Invite. Krivohlavek improved to 20-0 overall, going 3-0 in the 125-pound weight class with three pins.
