It’s time for three more Nannen Physical Therapy Athletes of the Week.
It’s too bad I can’t do 10, though.
That said, I’m to report the latest athletes to represent their Washington County schools are Kieryn Grothe, Will Dennis and Nicki Wendt. They’re really good at what they do.

Kieryn Grothe, Arlington football: The junior Eagle made plays Friday night against Columbus Lakeview. He caught a 54-yard touchdown pass and intercepted two Viking passes in AHS’ second-to-last ballgame of the season. I’d like to give special mention to AHS cross-country runners Nolan May and Hailey O’Daniel here, too.

Will Dennis, Fort Calhoun cross-country: The Fort Calhoun boys qualified for state cross-country with a second-place district finish and Dennis is a major reason why. He led the Pioneer back, taking seventh in 17:03.5. Obviously, Raeann Massey deserves special mention for her district run, too, while I’d also like to recognize the entire FCHS football team for breaking through with its second win Friday night.

Nicki Wendt, Blair volleyball: It’s tough to notch 15 kills, two aces and 10 digs in a three-set match, but that’s exactly what the junior did during the Bears’ 3-0 sweep of Omaha Christian Academy. It was the Bears’ third win in a row, by the way. Also, special mention goes to cross-country runner Allie Czapla for her fourth state cross-county qualification, and Blaise Baughman of the football team for a forced fumble and touchdown run.

Congrats to these honorees. Again, it was a tough week to pick just three.
All told, though, I’m thankful these remain popular online each week. It’s nice to recognize these kids’ hard work and I appreciate your efforts spreading the word.
