This week’s Nannen Physical Therapy Athletes of the Week theme is victory.
Hailey O’Daniel, Abi Lundberg and Preston Johnson didn’t win just once last week either.

Hailey O’Daniel, Arlington track and field: The junior Eagle notched victories in two events last Tuesday during a five-team meet at the College of Saint Mary. She won the 800-meter run in 2:27.41, while also clearing a meet-best 16 feet, 2.5 inches in the long jump. Special mention goes to Arlington baseball player Andy Misfeldt, who notched two RBIs in the Eagles’ win against Tekamah-Herman.

Abi Lundberg, Blair tennis: The Bears’ No. 1 Singles player is 2-0 after back-to-back wins to start the season this past week. She earned an 8-5 victory against Platteview’s No. 1 player before topping Omaha Gross’ 8-1. Special mention goes to soccer players Quinn Baedke, Kaitlynn O’Neil and Claire Anderson for notching two-goal games last week, too.

Preston Johnson, Fort Calhoun track and field: The senior Pioneer earned his team’s only two event wins Friday during another College of Saint Mary meet. He won the 60-meter dash in 7.46 seconds and the 200 dash in 23.92 to lead his squad. Special mention, however, goes to pole-vaulters TJ DeMilt (second with a 12-foot vault) and Afton Byelick (second with an 8-foot vault) for their Friday afternoon efforts.
