Sheila Grace Petersen was born on Feb. 18, 1962, at the Blair, Neb., hospital. She was the third child of Gary M. Petersen and Joy Dixon Petersen.
She loved to smile, and her first ones were directed towards her sister, Sherry, and her brother, Shane. Those smiles continued to be given to everyone she had contact with over her lifetime.
Sheila graduated from Blair High School in 1980. She had many careers but the one she loved the most was being the mom of her children, Shay and Micheala, and grandmother to her fun Fiona.
She was with her brother Shane at the North Kansas City Hospice Center when her Jesus called her home. She passed away peacefully just after midnight on April 1, 2024, after a short battle with cancer.
Sheila is survived by her son Shay (Jenn) Welshofer and granddaughter Fiona; her daughter, Micheala Welshofer and her fiancé Jonathan Bottiger; her husband Ron Martin; her mother Joy Petersen; and her brother Shane (Kathy) Petersen. She also leaves behind a wonderful family of Curt, Cindy and Cheryl Petersen, given to her by her Forever Dad, Merle Petersen. Sheila also has many nephews and nieces who love her very much.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Sherry; her Forever Dad, Merle Petersen; and her grandparents, Elmer and Marguerite Dixon, and Elmer and Gwen Thone.
Her services were held in Clinton, Mo., on April 13, 2024
