Ten Arlington and Washington County area Rise Above gymnasts recently competed during the Nebraska Compulsory and Xcel State Championships in Lincoln.
Seven of those 10 earned first-place finishes in individual events at their age and skill levels. Ava Peatrowsky was first in the vault and bars, and finished third in the all-around standings, according to meetscoresonline.com and Brandi Peatrowsky.
Like Peatrowsky, Aspen Fairhead is regionals bound — along with several more of her teammates — after a first-place beam finish. She was second in the all-around, too.
Lilly Lage's floor routine was good for first as well, while Merrick Fairhead secured first on the bars and beam. Fairhead was second in the all around, too.
Hayden Hellwig added a first-place result on the floor, while Harper Hellwig — who was first all-around — was first on the vault and bars.
Rise Above's Will Simmons added first-place results in the vault and beam, while finishing second in her all-around standings. Gymasts Mazlyn Eulberg, Elyse Adkisson and Kenzal Eulberg all earned top-five finishes at the state meet in Lincoln, too.
Sophie Hansen of Arlington is on the Rise Above roster, too, but was unable to compete at the championship event due to injury.
“Overall, our bronze team took first for team results,” Brandi Peatrowsky said in an email. “Platinum took second, gold team took sixth and silver team took 11th.”
As noted, Ava Peatrowsky, the Fairheads, Lage and Adkisson will next compete at regionals in Madison, Wisc.
