With the upcoming holidays and times being tough for so many, the people at STS Truck Services in Blair decided to help the community and sponsor a food drive in the Family Fare parking lot this week for the Washington County Food Pantry.
"This is our first time sponsoring one," said parts specialist David Patzner, who was manning the truck on Tuesday. "The Washington County Food (Pantry) is a really good organization and they need a little help so we decided to come out and support them."
Despite the wintery weather on Tuesday, Patzner said donations were “pretty good.”
"People have stopped by to ask what we are doing here and how they can help," he said. "Some promised they'd come back later to donate."
The truck will be in the Family Fare lot from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.
