Soukup leads Blair golfers in home quad

Bears finish 3rd with 182 strokes

Coach Ross Udey's Blair High School boys golf team hosted Fremont Bergan, Cedar Bluffs and Oakland-Craig on Tuesday for a River Wilds Golf Club quadrangular.
The schools' lineups played nine holes with Bergan earning the win with 157 strokes. The Bears were third, totaling 182 — 12 more than Cedar Bluffs, while Oakland-Craig finished with 192.
BHS senior Bode Soukup finished second officially, tying for the individual low score of the quad with 37 strokes. He finished hole No. 3 with an eagle and birdied No. 6, while sinking three par shots on Nos. 7, 8 and 9.
The Bears' Degan Dresden and Aaron Hinman carded 48 swings apiece, while Connor Wayman finished with a nine-hole 49. Justin Bird added 54 varsity strokes as well.
Udey's junior varsity lineup finished second to Bergan's JV team with 207 strokes, too. Jacob Hanson finished with 50 swings, while Jaxson Doolin and Markus Popa each shot 52. Nolan Wolfe finished with 53 strokes and Zeke Prochaska carded 59, respectively.
BHS competed Wednesday at Ashland Golf Club and next plays 9 a.m. Tuesday back at River Wilds.
