Posted

The Blair High School baseball team is returning to the NSAA Class B State Championships for the first time since 2017.
The Bears (11-11 overall) beat Platte Valley 2-1 Friday to secure their spot during the B-6 District Finals at Vets Field.
“I’m really proud of these kids,” coach John Roan said.
BHS senior Tanner Jacobson earned the complete game pitching win, throwing to catcher Nate Wachter. The right-hander had five strikeouts and held the Patriots scoreless until the seventh inning.
With two Platte Valley runners still on base during the final frame, Bears senior Brady Brown squeezed the final out in centerfield. He knocked in Jacobson for a run during the fifth inning, too, after Carter Saylor plated Dylan Swanson in the second frame.
Third-seeded BHS only topped the fourth-seeded Patriots (12-12) after upsetting second-seeded Seward on Thursday, 5-0.
Next, the Bears play their state opener May 11th at 9 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. Games will be played at Werner Park, the home of the Omaha StormChasers, or at Tal Anderson Field — the home of the Omaha Mavericks.
Official game information will be provided here once it is announced.

The full story and additional photos from both of the Bears’ district wins will be published in Tuesday’s Washington County Pilot-Tribune edition. Coverage will also appear online here at enterprisepub.com/sports that same day.
