Robert J Schreurs JR, 83, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on March 8, 2024 in Omaha, Neb.  Military graveside services will be held at a later date at Graceland Park Cemetery in Omaha.

Son of Mary C Schreurs (Webber) and Robert J Schreurs SR., was born Feb. 6, 1941, in Milford, Neb. He graduated Lincoln Northeast High School in 1959 lettering in football and entered the U.S. Navy the following Tuesday. After serving seven years, "he had as much fun as he could stand" and finished his submariner career with an honorable discharge. He attended college briefly at UNL and Iowa before starting his career of 30 years with OPPD at the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant as a reactor operator. Upon his retirement from OPPD, Bob continued to sell his sweet corn and vegetables at the local Farmer's market for many years, picked up a part time job at Sam's Club, volunteered with S.O.S., faithfully attended CBC, and supported his grandchildren at their school and sporting events whenever able.

Bob loved God, his wife, children and family, friends, wrestling, football, photography, growing sweet corn, John Deere tractors, Triumph motorcycles, Apple computers, brewing elderberry wine, his Dodge Ram, Ray Bans and his infamous Texaco cup.

He was preceded to heaven by his beloved daughter Amanda, mother, father, sisters Linda and Donna, brother Jim, and his wife, Shirley. He is survived by his daughters Amie Nelson (Matt Nelson) and Jill Schreurs, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, stepdaughters Deb and Teri and their children, along with nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Bob was a deeply beloved father, husband, and friend who will be dearly missed; however, we can rest in the assurance of the promise of Jesus that we will be reunited in heaven when the time comes.
