Richard L Sorensen, age 75, passed away Aug. 3, 2023 in Blair, Nebraska. Private graveside services will be held in the Blair Cemetery.
Richard was born Sept. 17, 1947 in Blair, Neb., to Carl E. and Leona (Lautrup) Sorensen. Richard was raised in Blair and was a graduate of Blair High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in Vietnam. For many years, Richard worked in maintenance and HVAC. During that time, he worked at Crowell Home in Blair and Immanuel Hospital in Omaha. On June 20, 1973, he was united in marriage to Luanne Wulf in Vermillion, S.D.
Richard is survived by his children: Corey (Penny) Sorensen of Elkhorn, Kaylene (Gueorgui) Platchkov of Bennington; grandchildren: Alina (Brandon) Wynn, Abigail Nelson, Emma (Eli) Bogdanoff, Mila Platchkov, Aria Platchkov, Conner Sorensen, Alisha Haines; great grandchildren: Sutton Wynn and Eric Bradley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Luanne, brother Donald Sorensen and sister Mary Mowry.
