Post 154 game stopped by storm

Senior Bears' game called in 2nd inning

A lightning delay sent the Blair Senior Legion baseball team back to the visitors' dugout, but the downpour sent them home.
The Post 154 Bears' game at Omaha Concordia ended early Tuesday as storms moved in overhead. The teams were even at 0-0 during the bottom of the second inning, though the Mustangs had two base runners in scoring position against right-hander Kaden Fletcher when the contest was ended prematurely.
Blair, meanwhile, left the diamond at the Omaha Home for Boys with two hits registered on the scoreboard beyond the right field fence.
Through his rolled down pickup window, Bears coach James Bilslend said the teams would try to reschedule the remaining innings for a later date. Rain drops snuck into the car window of the reporter who asked the question.
As of Tuesday night, Post 154 is 2-3 in Senior Legion games this season. It was scheduled to face Springfield on Wednesday before the start of today's Lewis & Clark Tournament in Yankton, S.D. The Bears open the three-day tourney with a 12:45 p.m. game against Post 911.
