Michael Kent Howard died at his home June 24, 2023, in Estherville, Iowa. Mike was born April 15, 1962, in Blair, the first son of Kent and Karen (Jensen) Howard. He attended elementary school in Washington State and spent his high school years in Fremont, where he graduated from Archbishop Bergan Catholic High School in 1980. Mike then attended Northwest Missouri State, graduating in 1985.
Mike loved the outdoors and all of its activities but especially camping, skiing, hunting and fishing. The loves of his life, the ones he cherished above all others, were his daughter Carson Marie, twin granddaughters Olive and Everly and grandson August. They were his pride and joy.
Mike leaves behind his daughter: Carson Larsen; grandchildren Olive, Everly and August; mother Karen; brothers: John (Kit), Mark (Alfredo); nephew Jensen Howard and niece Kate Howard. He was preceded in death by his father Kent; grandparents Dr. C.D. Howard and Beatrice; John and Frances Jensen.
Michael will be missed by many friends but especially by his Phi Sigma Epsilon fraternity brothers with which he had such a strong bond.
The family requests no flowers, instead donations may be made in his name to St. Jude Hospital.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Aug.5 at 10 a.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair.
