Blair girls tie Elkhorn at triangular
Senior Mallory Stirek led the Blair High School golf team Aug. 31 as it tied the triangular host Elkhorn Antlers with 216 strokes.
Omaha Skutt totaled 229 swings over nine holes during the afternoon of golf at Indian Creek, too.
Stirek led all golfers, carding a 43. Addie Stirek added 52 for the Bears, while Mackenzie Storjohann had 57, Carrie Truhlsen added 64 and Tessa Nicholson closed her day with 71.
BHS next plays 4 p.m. Wednesday at Hilltop Country Club during a Wahoo quadrangular. Elkhorn North and Plattsmouth join BHS and the Warriors for the event.

Arlington plays Grandpa's Woods
Senior Kayla Schwedhelm led the Arlington golf team Thursday at Grandpa's Woods.
The Eagle shot a nine-hole 52, besting teammate Sarah Rhea by two strokes during the Elmwood-Murdock quadrangular. Schwedhelm shot par on the first hole and used her 6-iron well off of the tee box, according to the player herself.
AHS' Grace Jones and Teleri Stamper added 63 swings apiece, too, while Kaelyn Kinnaman shot a 67.
