Health department reports fifth COVID-19 death in county

A fifth death related to COVID-19 has been reported in Washington County, according to the Three Rivers Public Health Department.

The health department reported three new deaths in its jurisdiction, including a Washington County man in his 80s. The man had underlying health conditions.

A Dodge County man in his 50s and a Saunders County woman in her 80s also died. They also had underlying health conditions.

The total deaths for the health district is 14.

Three Rivers Public Health Department, which serves Dodge Saunders and Washington counties, is continuing to see cases within the health district.

“We continue to see increases in cases and we need everyone to do their part — stay home if you are sick, get tested if you have had an exposure and wear a mask when out in the public,” Executive Director Terra Uhing said.
