While the 0-2 Blair Bears had the night off, the Arlington and Fort Calhoun High School football teams dropped to 1-1 Friday.
The Eagles lost their homecoming game with West Point-Beemer, 31-0, while the Pioneers fell 22-20 to Oakland-Craig.

Cadets topple AHS
The Arlington Eagles won their season opener with 27 points, but scored none Friday against the Cadets.
West Point-Beemer earned an 18-0 first quarter lead and added a pair of touchdowns in the third to win the Eagles’ homecoming game by 31 points.
AHS quarterback Cooper Staats and pass-catching back Killian McIntosh combined for the Eagles’ first first down during the opening quarter, but coach Colter Mattson’s squad had little offensive success. Punter Jacob Beans was busy throughout the night.
After the game, football senior Josh Hamre was named Arlington’s homecoming king. The queen was Brooke Hilgenkamp, a multi-sport athlete.
The Eagles next host Pierce on Sept. 8.

Pioneers drop tight game
Fort Calhoun quarterback Adam Elofson completed a 47-yard touchdown pass to Preston Johnson on Friday for the Pioneers’ final score against Oakland-Craig.
It pulled the home team within 22-20, which, ultimately, served as the final score of the Knights’ road victory.
FCHS trailed 16-0 after one quarter, but battled back in defeat. It next plays at Wayne on Sept. 8.
