Two people were transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle accident July 2 at the intersection of state Highway 133 and County Road P26.

Washington County sheriff's deputies and Blair Fire and Rescue responded to the crash at approximately 2:34 p.m.

According to the report, a 2014 Subaru, driven by Mitchell Eechaute, 26, of Blair, was headed south on Highway 133 and attempted to turn left onto CR P26 when it was struck by a southbound 2010 Ford Fusion, driven by Acie Bernholtz, 22, of Nebraska City.

The force of the crash pushed the Fusion up the embankment where it collided with a stop sign.

Both vehicles sustained front end damage. The airbags didn't deploy.

Eechaute was evaluated and released by Blair Rescue. Bernholtz and a 6-month-old child were transported to Memorial Community Hospital and Health System. Bernholtz was complaining of arm and ankle pain.

Eechaute was cited for failure to yield the right of way. Bernholtz was cited for not wearing a seat belt.
