More than 20 softball teams competed Friday through Sunday during the Blair Youth Softball Association Classic at the Youth Sports Complex.
Among the 23 ballclubs competing across three age divisions — age 12 and younger, 14U and 16U/18U — were the Blair Diamonds, Arlington Eagles and 15U Nebraska Quakes.
The Diamonds competed in the 14U division, starting 2-1 across Friday and Saturday. The hometown team lost its opener to another Quakes team, 7-0, but responded with an unbeaten Saturday.
The Diamonds first topped the Ralston Rampage 12-0 before besting a Bennington team 11-1.
The 18U Arlington squad, meanwhile, went 0-3 across its first three games of the Blair tourney. Despite Dianna Flores' homer Friday, the Eagles lost a 7-2 game to the Nebraska Blitz. They then fell 12-0 to the Quakes 15U team and 2-1 to BISH's RV Softball.
The Quakes, meanwhile, started the tournament 2-1. The team, comprised of several Blair and Fort Calhoun players, beat Arlington and the Blitz, 6-1.
The Quakes lost their opener 2-0 to BISH's RV, however.
Sunday's results and final tournament records will appear in Friday's Washington County Enterprise.
