The Blair Dawgs town team left Vets Field with innings still to play Thursday evening.
The rain-shortened Dodge County Baseball League (DCBL) game with the Scribner Hogs went long enough to go official, though, with the road squad winning, 5-1.
The home loss dropped the Dawgs' season record to 2-8. They'd lost three straight going into last Sunday's scheduled road game at North Bend.
Blair will be on the road again this Thursday at Valley before returning home for games with West Point (June 17) and Wahoo (June 21). The Sunday afternoon game with the Bombers starts at 2 p.m., while the regular season finale with the Wombats is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. first pitch.
Last Thursday's rain-soaked Dawgs lineup against Scribner included Brad Gentzler, Cody Flynn, Keaton Kelberlau, Derek Jorgensen, Nick Nelsen, Jacob Garder, Josh Wagman, Zane Shearman and Brad Tonn. Aaron Kelberlau and Russ Nelsen coached first and third base, respectively.
Arlington High School graduate Braden Rump played for the Hogs, batting from the lead-off spot.
