Clifford Leo Morrow was born to Arthur and Dorthula Morrow on Jan. 29, 1950, in Omaha. He passed away Dec. 24, 2021, at CHI Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha surrounded by family after a short battle with cancer.
Cliff was a well-known storyteller and he loved interacting with people and making them laugh. It was no joking matter that Cliff’s first love was his wife of 50 years, Marilyn, whom he met at college (NCTA in Curtis, Neb.). He was devoted to his family. He was known for supporting his children and grandchildren in all their interests. He went to every game and event he could and he would freely share with anyone how proud he was of them.
Cliff enjoyed farming and raising livestock with his dad and brothers. They raised corn, soybeans, and sugar beets, eventually focusing on the soybeans and corn. He retired in 2019. He called the farm his “paradise” and would frequently jump into a golf cart and tour the “resort” with Marilyn. Cliff also enjoyed helping with their kennel business especially doing the driving when Marilyn picked up and delivered customers’ dogs. Cliff loved his music and singing. He directed the church choir for approximately 29 years. Cliff had a love/hate relationship with golf, he enjoyed boating and fishing, and he was a church deacon. He was a County Supervisor for 20 years, and he belonged to the Masons for 50 years. He wrote articles for the Plaindealer and the Midwest Messenger and he blogged for years. Cliff loved to garden and cook, with a high demand for his smoked salmon.
Cliff is preceded in death by his infant brother, George Morrow, his parents, and his sister Mary Lou Larsen.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Morrow of Tekamah; his sons: Daniel and Thomas (Stephanie) Morrow of Lincoln, NE; his daughter, Juli Morrow of Tekamah (special friend Brad Wrich of Blair); siblings: Francis (Robbie) Morrow of Des Moines, Iowa; Ruth (Wally) of Tulsa, Okla.; Clark (Norma) Morrow of Omaha; Ed (Diane Scott) Morrow of Tekamah; Les (Jean) Morrow of Ruidoso, N.M. and his 12 grandchildren.
Celebration of life will be on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022, 11 a.m. at the Tekamah-Herman Public School in Tekamah. Luncheon will be held following the service. Cliff wanted to be sure that everyone was fed well.
The private family burial will be at the Tekamah Cemetery in Tekamah.
