City of Fort Calhoun September 27, 2022 A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Fort Calhoun, Nebraska, was called by Mayor Robinson on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. The special meeting was held in open and public session at 7:00 p.m. at the City Maintenance Shop in Fort Calhoun, Nebraska. On roll call, the following Council Members answered present: Andy Bowser, Bob Prieksat, Nick Schuler, and John Kelly. Notice of the meeting was given in advance thereof by posting at City Hall, the Post Office and Calhoun Oil, said form of notice being a designated method for giving notice, a certification of posting being attached to these minutes. Advance notice of this meeting was also given to the Mayor and all Council Members. Availability of the agenda was communicated in the advance notice and in the notice to the Mayor and Council Members. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the meeting was open to the attendance of the public. With a quorum present, the Mayor presided and the Clerk recorded the proceedings. At 7:01 p.m., Mayor Robinson stated in compliance with the provisions in State Statute Section 77-1601.02, It is now time to conduct the public hearing relative to hearing support, opposition, criticism, suggestions or observations of taxpayers relating to the proposed Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Budget 2020-2021 Actual Disbursements & Transfers $ 3,174,284.03 2021-2022 Estimated Disbursements & Transfers $ 6,094,718.39 2022-2023 Proposed Budget of Disbursements & Transfers $ 4,134,039.89 2022-2023 Necessary Cash Reserve $ 826,155.00 2022-2023 Total Resources Available $ 4,960,194.89 Total 2022-2023 Personal & Real Property Tax Requirement $ 595,820.00 Unused Budget Authority Created for Next Year $ 12,429.04 Breakdown Of Property Tax: Personal and Real Property Tax Required for Non-Bond Purposes $ 384,320.00 Personal and Real Property Tax Required for Bonds $ 211,500.00 There were no written comments received. Linda Welsher, 1610 Clay St, questioned the Clay Street project. She stated it was in the 1 & 6 Plan but didn’t see it in the budget. Mayor Robinson explained the Clay Street project will not happen this year.
