Catherine Jan Grabbe (Colgan), 66, passed away Nov. 18, 2023 due to health complications.
Jan was born July 19, 1957 in Springfield, Ore., to Denny and Judy (Martin) Colgan. After living in both Nebraska and Oregon in her childhood, Jan moved to Herman, Nebraska in 1972 and graduated from Tekamah High School in 1975. In 1977, Jan married Paul Grabbe and welcomed their first child, Andrew Ian, in August of 1977 and their second child, Mary Anna “May," in July of 1982.
Jan held many titles (mother, Nana, artist, friend, animal lover, resident aid, bartender, general know it all) with her last employment as a computer programmer at D.L. Blair where she worked until 2016. Jan took great joy in creating art and the successes and adventures of her children and grandchildren.
Jan is survived by her children, ex-husband/best friend, grandchildren: Christian Packett, Miranda Grabbe and Lee Grabbe; the best friends anyone could ever ask for and her four siblings.
Public services will be held at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023 at 2 p.m.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Blair Animal Shelter.
