Carolyn L. Anderson (Thompson) age 76 of Blair, Neb., passed away Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023, of heart complications. Funeral services will be held Saturday Dec. 9, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Salem Evangelical Covenant Church of Oakland, Neb., 290 County Road I, Oakland, Neb. 68045. Graveside services will follow in the Salem Cemetery.

Carolyn was born on Nov. 1, 1947, in Denver, Colo., the daughter of Robert Donald and Irene Elanor (Fiesler) Thompson. She attended Hayward High School in Hayward, Calif., and graduated in 1966.

Carolyn was very creative — she sculpted, painted and modeled at Macy’s Department Store in California. She received a scholarship to model in New York, however, she met the love of her life, Wayne A. Anderson and the couple married on July 16, 1966, and moved back to Omaha. Carolyn’s passions were taking care of her family and farm animals as well as gardening, cooking, ceramics, sewing, painting, camping, fishing as well as breeding and raising Arabian horses.

I’ve had a wonderful life” as she would say. When her husband Wayne passed away in 2015, she moved off the farm and into town. She loved to entertain her family and her greatest joy was her grandkids. She was so very proud of them all.

Carolyn was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Kennard, Neb., and was also in Christian Women at the church. She also served as a 4-H leader and was actively involved in the Washington County Fair.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Wayne, her parents, brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her son Daniel Anderson and wife Bobbi of Blair; daughter Tamra Bartosh and husband Jim of Arlington; son Michael Anderson and wife Dane of Blair; grandchildren David Anderson, Ahnna Kirchmeyer and husband Ryan, Jacqueline Bartosh and fiancé Chase Zimmerman, Jake Bartosh, Dalton Anderson, Colton Anderson and wife Kaity, Duston Anderson and Shelton Anderson; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends.
