Fast-pitch softball players, parents and supporters were met by a loaded Blair Youth Sports Complex parking lot Saturday during the second day of the USA Softball of Nebraska 12U C District 8 Tournament.
Twenty-four teams and the people associated with them filled the lot and the Blair Youth Softball Association fields for the three-day event, Friday through Sunday. Full results will appear in next Friday's Washington County Enterprise.
Representing Washington County in the tournament bracket were the Blair Diamonds, the Blair Chaos and Arlington Youth Sports' age 12 and younger lineup. The Diamonds won their first game of the tournament Friday, 9-3 against the Wayne Dirt Devils, while Arlington and the Chaos fell short against the Nebraska Storm and Pender, respectively.
All three county teams continued play Saturday with hopes of reaching Sunday's championship game. The district tourney served as a state tournament qualifier for USA Softball of Nebraska.
