Blair wrestlers Hudson Loges and Cole Welte competed and earned All-American status last weekend in Las Vegas.
Loges, a BHS freshman competing at 45 kilograms, was a two-time All-American, claiming second during the U17 Greco-Roman World Team Trials and seventh in freestyle competition. The 2022 NSAA state medalist started Greco-Roman finals competition with a 3-2 victory against Davis Motyka, but lost the next two matches during the best-of-three series.
In the freestyle tournament, Loges bested Welte for seventh place. Both wrestlers entered the match with 3-2 records.
Welte also found success in Greco-Roman competition, reaching the quarterfinal round of the trials.
The USA Wrestling Trials were contested to qualify for the World Team, which is set to travel to Rome in late July.
