Blair golfers take 188 swings at Northridge

Chaffee shoots triangular's low score

Easton Chaffee took a triangular-best 37 swings Thursday, but the Blair boys golf team finished third to Tekamah-Herman and Elkhorn North at Northridge Country Club.
The hometown Tigers shot the afternoon's best nine holes, concluding with 161 strokes. The Wolves finished with 175 and the Bears took 188.
Chaffee's 1-over par 37 was one better than second-place Brody Rogers of Tekamah-Herman. Notably, the BHS standout birdied hole No. 3, a par-5.
Senior Adam Grote, meanwhile, carded Blair's second-best score. He took 47 swings, while both Connor Wayman and Landen Oppliger shot 52s. Luke Ladwig added 53 strokes as well.
The Bears also finished third in the junior varsity triangular. Jack Schroeder shot a nine-hole 52, while Sam Hicks recorded a 55. Murkus Popa finished with 62 swings, while Eli Bush had 66 and Rylan Blattert took 81.
BHS competed again Monday and next golfs 9 a.m. today at Tiburon Golf Club in Omaha.
