10th Street extension contracts, bids approved

The council approved several contracts and bids related to the 10th Street extension project, which is in connection with the new Dollar General distribution center.

Those items approved included:

• a construction staking contract with JEO Engineering with a fee of $16,620.

• a material testing contract with Olsson for $15,155.

• a bid for utilities from Thompson Construction, Fremont, in the amount of $979,888.

• a bid for paving from Luxa Construction, Blair, in the amount of $1.18 million.

Two more lots sold in Transformation Hill

A purchase agreement with Egan RE, LLC for two lots in the Transformation Hill Addition was approved.

The cost per lot is $20,000.

As part of the agreement, construction on a new house on one of the lots must begin by Sept. 1.

Welch appointed to library board

Tim Welch was appointed to the Blair Public Library Board by Mayor Rich Hansen.

Welch's appointment was approved as part of the consent agenda. His term will be through June 30, 2024.
