The City of Blair's proposed fiscal year 2021-22 budget is $66.7 million.

The proposed budget was first presented to the Blair City Council at a public budget workshop Monday night.

City Administrator Rod Storm said the budget is “straight forward” and does not include a lot of new spending.

The proposed levy is 35.9 cents, which would amount to approximately $2.4 million in total property taxes. The city's levy has hovered between 35.3 cents and 35.9 cents since 2010. Property valuations are expected from the county assessor by Aug. 20.

The city council will review the proposed budget again at its Aug. 24 meeting. A public hearing will be held at 6 p.m. Sept. 13 before the budget is formally adopted at the councils Sept. 14 meeting.
