Even with two chances to do so, the Blair High School baseball team didn't add to its win total Saturday in Ashland.
The Bears lost back-to-back games to Elkhorn Mount Michael and the triangular host Platte Valley Patriots, dropping to 7-10 overall. Coach John Roan's squad was scheduled to play Seward on Monday and hosts Elkhorn North today at 6:30 p.m.
J'Shawn Unger led BHS with two RBIs during a 5-3 loss to the Class C No. 7 Knights first. Brady Brown added one, too, as the Bears were held to just three hits in seven innings.
Pitchers Lucas Matejka and Jake Gaskill combined for four strikeouts in defeat.
Then, against Platte Valley, Blair outhit the home team, 7-5, but still lost 3-2 on a walk-off. Tanner Jacobson led the Bears with a 3-for-4 night at the plate, while Dylan Swanson and Unger plated Blair's runs.
The Bears led 2-1 going into the bottom half of the seventh inning with Blaine Rosenbaun allowing just the one run in six innings of pitching work.

Unger hits grand slam in win
Unger hit a fifth-inning grand slam Thursday as BHS earned a 7-3 road win against Crete at Tuxedo Park.
The senior slugger's four-run homer came during a six-run frame for the Bears, who went ahead 7-0. The lead was enough for Jacobson, the pitcher, who earned the win with five strikeouts in six innings of work. Rosenbaum, meanwhile, threw the seventh, securing three outs on 12 pitches.
Offensively, Blair's Matejka, Swanson and Jacobson added an RBI apiece to go with Unger's four. Nate Wachter notched a team-best three hits with one triple, and Owen Mann walked twice.
Crete pitchers combined for six strikeouts, but they also allowed nine hits and seven earned runs total.
