The Fort Calhoun track and field team picked up a pair of fourth-place finishes Thursday at Platteview High School.
The Pioneer boys were fourth with 70 points, while the girls scored 65. Syracuse swept the team titles, earning 115.5 and 154, respectively.
Senior Lance Olberding and sophomore Bria Bench were coach Mandy Taylor's top performers on the road. Olberding won the 3,200-meter run in 10:51.38, while taking second in the 800 run and third in the 1,600.
Bench won two events Thursday. She was the 1,600 run champ in 5:56.21 and the 3,200 winner in 12:49.01. The FCHS standout was second in the high jump, too.
Also earning silver medals were Ely Olberding, Dala Drowne and Kaitlyn Thalman. Olberding finished the 2-mile run in 11:01.84 behind his brother, Lance, while Thalman was second to Bench in the girls' race. She finished in 13:42.8.
Drowne, meanwhile, was second in the 200-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 26.68 seconds. First-place RaeAnn Thompson of Falls City clocked in at 27.78.
The Pioneers' Michael Pratt added a third-place individual finish in the discus, too. He cleared 114 feet, 10 inches with his best attempt.
Fort Calhoun hosts its own invitational today at 1:30 p.m.
