A temporary pump has been installed to help feed the Blair water treatment plant. Al Schoemaker, Public Works Director for Blair, said the temporary intake pump helps supply water from the Missouri River to the water treatment plant. He said the pump is necessary because of low water levels in the Missouri River. more

Recent frigid temperatures have created headaches for the City of Blair. Al Schoemaker, Director of Public Works, said cold weather over the holidays led to three water main breaks in the city. “The cold weather can certainly make for challenges for the city's water mains as the ground freezes and moves, causing water main breaks,” he said. “(Three) is a high number for such a short time for Blair.” more
