Friday's Fort Calhoun baseball game at Lincoln Christian was canceled just hours before first pitch by rain and wet field conditions.
The schedule change left the Pioneers (6-14 overall) with just two more regular season games to go. They were scheduled to face West Point GACC on Monday and host Falls City today at 4:30 p.m.
Coach Roy Prauner's team entered the two-game homestand 4-4 across its last eight games. It's beaten Louisville, Douglas County West, South Sioux City and Thurston-Cuming County during the two-week stretch.
Calhoun entered the April 14 start of the Nebraska Capitol Conference Tournament 2-10 and has three times as many wins now.
Once the regular season concludes, however, FCHS will play in the Class C District 5 Tournament at Buffalo Park in Springfield. The host Platteview Trojans are the No. 1 seed. They face Falls City at 4 p.m. Thursday before the No. 3 Pioneers' first-round game against second-seeded Omaha Roncalli at 6:30.
The winners of Thursday's games play Friday for the district title — and an automatic berth into the first NSAA Class C State Tournament since 1960.
