Rain wiped out the Fort Calhoun Junior and Senior Legion baseball games scheduled for Tuesday evening.
Zig Drywall Post 348 was set to host Omaha Concordia, but was unable to play due to the amount of moisture to fall from sky Monday night into game day.
Instead, the Fort Calhoun ball teams were to play again Wednesday at Waterloo-Valley before the Seniors travel to Yankton, S.D., for the Lewis & Clark Classic today. Coach Jerry Wellwood's team starts competition at Riverside Park against Madison at 12:30 p.m. before it faces Blair Post 154 at 2:45.
Tournament play continues Saturday with to-be-determined matchups and start times.
Last Sunday, however, Fort Calhoun's Seniors lost the final game of their home tournament, 11-8. Coach Wellwood's team led 5-3 through three innings, but Blair responded with eight runs across the fourth and fifth innings to take a commanding lead.
Chase Premer and Sam Genoways plated two runs apiece for Post 348, while Nathan Kramer and JT Mlnaik notched one each, according to Blair stat-keeping.
Calhoun pitchers struck out 14 Post 154 batters, but the home squad was hurt by errors in defeat.
The Fort Calhoun Juniors, meanwhile, were 3-2 overall as of Tuesday night. They have wins against the OSAA MABL Green JV (15-0), the Waterloo-Valley Wingnuts (4-0) and Ashland Post 129 (6-5).
The Juniors host Seward Post 33 today at 6 p.m., too.
