Templar makes Class B 1st team

The Omaha World-Herald recognized five Blair Bears and four Fort Calhoun Pioneers with the recent release of its all-state football teams.
BHS senior Brock Templar was the highest regarded Washington County football player on the newspaper's list, claiming first-team Class B honors after starring on both sides of the ball for the Bears. Offensively, he ran for 902 yards in just seven games, averaging 6.8 per carry with 13 touchdowns.
Templar also accumulated 262 receiving yards during his senior campaign.
Blair's Thomas Chikos, Cornez Tucker Jr., Cooper Sorensen and Keenan Wyman earned Class B honorable mention from the World-Herald, too. Chikos and Tucker Jr. excelled along the line of scrimmage throughout the season, while Sorensen completed 71 percent of his passes at quarterback for 1,397 yards, 10 touchdowns and just three interceptions.
Wyman, meanwhile, caught 23 passes for 323 yards this past fall.
Fort Calhoun's Colton Miles, Blake Welchert, TJ DeMilt and Andrew Namuth, meanwhile, earned Class C1 honorable mention from the World-Herald. Miles was a constant on the offensive line and finished with eight total tackles defensively, while Namuth accumulated 52 tackles in just seven games.
TJ DeMilt made 40 tackles at linebacker and ran for 179 yards, while Welchert was a consistent offensive weapon for the Pioneers with eight touchdowns. The back finished with 742 rushing yards and 299 receiving as FCHS returned to the NSAA playoffs this past fall.
No Arlington Eagles were listed by the Omaha newspaper as Class C1 honorees.
